Rehearsals at Conservatoire EAST, West Suffolk College:
13th โ 17th July 2026
20th – 24th July 2026
- One Saturday promotional day in The Arc, Bury St. Edmunds โ Saturday 25th July, 9am โ 4pm – TBC
- Monday 27th July (Daytime โGet-Inโ for Technical Students) performers required from 6pm โ 21:30pm for a Sitz with the Band at Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds
- Tuesday 28th July โ 12 Midday arrival at Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds, Afternoon Tech Rehearsal, Evening Dress Rehearsal with band until approximately 10pm. Actual times will be confirmed the week before when we know the running time of the show.
Performances at Theatre Royal
29th July – 1st August 2026 including both a Matinee and Evening show on Saturday 1st August.

Audition Information for our 47th Annual Summer School
Auditions are In-Person or by video application. If you wish to audition please fill out the online audition application form. We will then email you with all the details
Auditions will consist of performing a song and a monologue from memory chosen from this pack and a dance.
Dance: a short routine require to illustrate you movement ability and rhythm.
Singing: Please choose a song to prepare for your audition from the list provided. Click the link to access the songs. Please note, the songs chosen cover a range of parts and do not mean you are only auditioning for that role. We will be considering you for lots of different roles. You will be expected to sing from memory.

The Story
The Little Mermaid โ SYNOPSIS
Go Under the Sea this year with The Little Mermaid! Ariel, King Tritonโs youngest daughter, is obsessed with the human world and is desperate to be part of the human world. When she lays eyes on Prince Eric, she makes a deal with the evil Sea Witch Ursula to trade her voice for legs. Will Ariel be able to kiss Prince Eric by sunset on the third day? Based on the original fairytale by Hans Christian Anderson, The Little Mermaid mixes colourful characters and stand-out songs, The Little Mermaid is a fantastic show for all the family.ย
Founded in 1979, SYPT has been supporting students in the arts for 46 years and is an annual three-week summer school, giving young people from 14 โ 24yrs the opportunity to work with professionals from industry, to produce a full-scale production with two weeks intensive rehearsals, followed by a weekโs run in Theatre Royal.
