The Story
Ghost The Musical— SYNOPSIS
Adapted from the hit film by its Academy Award-winning screenwriter, Bruce Joel Rubin, Suffolk Young People’s Theatre bring you GHOST THE MUSICAL, which follows Sam and Molly, a young couple whose connection takes a shocking turn after Sam’s untimely death. The bond of love transcends the boundaries of life itself to grow stronger and more fully realised. Trapped between two worlds, Sam refuses to leave Molly when he learns she is in grave danger. Desperate to communicate with her, he turns to a storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, who helps him protect Molly and avenge his death. Featuring the classic hit by the Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody”, GHOST THE MUSICAL is a poignant romance that builds comedy, suspense, and deeply felt emotion to an ethereal climax that audiences will never forget. Founded in 1979, SYPT has been supporting students in the arts for 44 years and is an annual three-week summer school, giving young people from 14 – 21yrs the opportunity to work with professionals from industry, to produce a full-scale production with two weeks intensive rehearsals, followed by a week’s run in Theatre Royal.
